Screenings Appropriate to see if your concerns are warranted. Screenings are only a method of determining if further speech, language or oral-motor/feeding testing is needed. Screenings are not a substitute for in-depth evaluations. Screenings last approximately 15 minutes and do not include a written report. Onsite screenings are typically combined with a 15 minute consultation. Both onsite and offsite speech language screenings are available. Offsite screenings are only available for groups.

Consultations Several types of consultations are available for families and therapists. Initial and ongoing speech/language/oral-motor/feeding consults consist of informal assessments, observations and verbal discussion along with recommendations. A written report is not prepared unless you make special arrangements prior to the consult. As a client, ongoing consultations are recommended and consist of phone conversations or scheduled appointments to discuss your child's therapy goals and progress. Consultations are also available for treating therapists; please see training & program development for more information.

"The choice of a speech therapist is a difficult proposition for any parent. A good choice here is a critical step toward making your child happier & healthier -- a functioning member of society.
Our decision to work with Isa Marrs has turned into a hugely successful step in our son's development.
Is she qualified? Yes. But those qualifications are meaningless if the child does not respond. Our son actually looks forward to his sessions. His enthusiasm results in continued progress with every session. Although young ones can lose focus easily Isa is able to skillfully draw him back in to the learning process. He is learning without even realizing it, and we have seen clear and meaningful results after just the first few sessions.
We are pleased with Isa's work, and would recommend her wholeheartedly."

Evaluations Several types of evaluations are available. All evaluations consist of formal and/or informal testing of specific areas and include a written report. A speech/language evaluation will look at both sound production and expressive/receptive language skills. Sometimes speech (sound production) is the only area of concern. If this is the case a speech evaluation will be conducted without a language evaluation. However it will include an intra-oral examination.
Depending on findings and parent concerns a feeding evaluation may also be recommended.
Studies show that 8 out of 10 children with disabilities also have feeding disorders. Therefore a feeding evaluation is often recommended. Feeding Evaluations include observation and assessment of the motor skills involved in feeding and discussion of behavioral concerns. Feeding evaluations also include a written report.
